226 - Monday, August 23rd - So, while rummaging around in my old CDs, I found the proof CD that our friend and wedding photographer, Cory Ryan*, sent us after we moved out to Oregon, so that we could pick which photos we wanted printed.
2002 was a primitive time. All of our wedding was shot on film. Film!
Looking back through the photos, it never ceases to amaze me how young I look and how much Sara looks the same. I don’t even look like I could grow facial hair! It also doesn’t cease to amaze me how well we’ve been able to keep in touch with so many of our friends from that time. My best man, Mike, is still my best man. We still talk to Chris and Josh (though not as much as we should, most likely). Heck, we have even managed to keep in touch with some of our professors. It may just be the golden tint of nostalgia creeping in, but the more we look back at that time in our lives, the more special it seems.
But here we are, eight years later. When I spell it out like that, it sounds like a lifetime.
You know what? I wouldn’t trade a minute of it. It’s been a wonderful, trying and exciting time for both of us. I can’t even fathom what awaits us in the next eight, sixteen or thirty-two years…
*Fun fact - Cory Ryan shot our wedding with his girlfriend at the time, Tamrah. Now, they’re married and run a professional photography business. If you’re in the Minneapolis area, give them a call. I can only assume that they’ve gotten more awesome as the years have gone by.
