Norway Wants to Offer Hydroelectric Resources to Europe - SPIEGEL ONLINE -

Very cool. Nice to see a country with massive oil reserves is still investing in more renewable energy, not just to power themselves, but to sell to everyone else.

Alialujah Choir: Bowler Hats And Harmonies : NPR -

Okay, so this is pretty sweet. NPR Music is featuring a session with Portland band Alialujah Choir that I shot and edited for OPBmusic a few months back.

It’s cool to see them getting the attention (they totally deserve it) and it’s also cool to have something I had a hand in be seen by people across the world. Pretty humbling…AND AWESOME!!!

Birth Of An Album: In The Studio With Neko Case : NPR -

Beastie Boys' Adam Horovitz Opens Up About Adam Yauch: 'He Was in Charge' | Music News | Rolling Stone -

Tough read, but I think it ends on a really high note. Or, as high as you can get when talking about losing a lifelong friend to cancer.

I’ll admit, Yauch’s death hit me much, much harder than I thought it would. It made me go back to my childhood and my teen years and remember just how much of my musical sensibility was shaped by the Beasties. They were like this huge funnel that allowed so many different types of music to be poured directly into my ear at once. It really changed the way that I felt about music in a dramatic way, in a way that I never really thought about before. So I was broken up over the death of someone I had never met, had never seen perform live, and honestly hadn’t thought about too much in recent years. That’s jarring.

Considering all that, I can’t even fathom how Adam and Mike and Yauch’s family are feeling. To lose someone that could have an effect on so many people from such a distance, up close it has to be like ground zero in a nuclear blast, just complete destruction. My heart goes out to all of them.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go listen to Check Your Head for the thousandth time.

American Airlines Boots Woman With Pro-Choice T-Shirt From Flight | Mother Jones -

It appears that the captain and the airlines confused themselves for hall monitors instead of an airline.

Good thing she wasn’t wearing a “Big Johnson” shirt, right, people who grew up in the 90s? Right?!
